This film is a critique of the spectacular display of food, cooking and eating presented in visual media. Using footage and audio from the Food Network I explore the overlaps between the food media and pornography; the sensual language, attractive celebrity chefs, and the exaggerated enjoyment and performance of cooking and eating. I used Cooper Black for the “porn” typeface for a 1970s porn pastiche. Facts about cooking shows are displayed on blurry gray boxes to resemble old sex-ed slides.
